The posts include federal village committee chairman, new village information officer, new village development officer, hospital visitors board member and college advisory board member, said Selangor MCA deputy chairman Datuk Ei Kim Hock.
On a separate matter, Ei said 21 Selangor division chairmen and its youth and women's wings wanted Datuk Donald Lim to retract his resignation as the state liaison committee chairman.
They wanted Lim to stay on and steer the party through the difficult transition period.
He said in a press conference yesterday that teamwork within Selangor MCA had consistently remained strong under Lim.
In Batu Pahat, eight members from the Sri Gading division including councillors, hospital visitor board members and village heads announced their resignations yesterday.
On Sunday, MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek said the party would stick to its decision not to accept any government posts now that they did not do better than in 2008.
The MCA won seven parliamentary seats this time around.
Separately, in Kuala Lumpur, former MCA secretary-general Tan Sri Dr Ting Chew Peh said the party leadership, especially those from the old guard, must realise that things had changed.
“MCA has talked about giving chances to the younger generation but sometimes the party does not walk the talk,” said the 75-year-old.
MCA Youth education bureau chief Chong Sin Woon felt that this was the time for young leaders to take over and set a new direction for the party, saying that MCA's “old-fashioned” approach to politics was a major factor in the party losing favour among Malaysians.
