KUALA LUMPUR: The three organisers of a documentary film screening, who were arrested on Wednesday, have been released on police bail after six hours.

Pusat Komas board of directors member Anna Har, executive director Arul Prakkash and programme officer Lena Hendry were arrested in a raid by Home Ministry, Immigration and police officials after a private screening of No Fire Zone at the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall.

The movie, directed by UK-based Callum Macrae, explores the oppression of Tamils in Sri Lanka.

Yesterday, the organisers said it had been screening issue-based films for the past 10 years.

“Malaysia has always taken an interest in issues affecting people around the world, for example the Palestinians and Rohingyas,” she said.
