Communication breakdown: Nga holding up his phone, which he said was ‘hijacked’ to send malicious text messages.
IPOH: State DAP secretary Nga Kor Ming has lodged a police report over his phone number being used to send racially offensive SMS to the public.
He said a legal notice would also be sent to the service provider soon.
“I want a satisfactory answer from the service provider, otherwise I will take legal action,” he told reporters after lodging a police report at the state police headquarters here yesterday.
Nga, who is Taiping MP, said he realised his phone number was tampered with when he started receiving phone calls and text messages from unknown people since Friday evening.
He said he was the third victim after PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu and vice-president Datuk Salahuddin Ayub who had also complained of having their phone numbers used to send racially offensive messages.
Nga said the SMS in Mandarin was sent not only to Malaysians but those living overseas, where he had purportedly condemned his own party on its failure to form the government.
He said people used vulgar language and scolded him for sending out the messages.
