KOTA KINABALU: The five newly-appointed Sabah ministers got cracking as they headed to their respective ministries.

The ministries' respective permanent secretaries and senior officials gave briefings to the new ministers, who arrived as early as 8am yesterday, following their appointments by the Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin.
However, most of the new ministers preferred to keep a low profile as they needed more time to understand the functions of the various ministries.
The five new ministers in the 11-member cabinet are Datuk Radin Malleh(Rural Development Ministry), Datuk Teo Chee Kang (Special Affairs Ministry), Datuk Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan (Youth and Sports Ministry),Datuk Jainab Ahmad Ayid (Community Development and Consumer Affairs Ministry) and Datuk Siringan Gubat (Resource Development and Information Technology Ministry).
Others retained in the state Cabinet were Industrial Develop-ment Minister, Datuk Raymond Tan, who was also appointed Deputy Chief Minister to replace Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai, who lost his bid to defend the Api-Api state seat.
